Promise.

Take

This gift.

Look, it lives.

Roll it over.

See, it tends our fount.

Wake up! Your love, my love

Lives through us, in spite of us.

~

Our garden’s whispering rushed pleas.

The wind becomes more mischievous, too.

With time, they’ll cover our picture frame.

~

Be me, and see yourself as I see you.

    1. I never considered poetry seriously before I came to know of this form. Although I did try haiku and Elfchen and found them exciting in their own right, Etheree sates my soul every time.

  1. As always, you condense such intense emotion and insight into a handful of words. And this: “Be me, and see yourself as I see you.” Wouldn’t that solve a few problems?

  2. Priya — I’m so happy to have found you again. Your poems contain such a sense of wonder; they are a joy to read. This line, “Wake up! Your love, my love Lives through us, in spite of us” spoke to me a little louder than the rest. I hear trusting in love in that line. You have captured it perfectly.
